Volunteer positions are available from Friday, July 5, through Saturday, July 13, 2019 for start/finish line, field events, clerk’s tent and awards tent. Please note that volunteer opportunities for this event may require physical exertion such as raking or lifting. Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age to volunteer for the event and volunteers under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers under 18 years of age must have a parent/guardian sign a waiver prior to the event. The 2019 AAU National Club Championships for Track and Field is part of the annual Volunteer Ambassador Team Calendar. You will receive one commemorative piece of apparel for the event (sizes are not guaranteed) and one snack per shift (snacks are typically provided at the start of your shift. If you have special dietary needs, please plan accordingly).
Volunteer Ambassador Team shifts and activities will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis. Although every effort will be made to accommodate your selection, the scheduling office reserves the right to schedule volunteers based on event needs, which includes placing volunteers on a waiting list. You will receive a confirmed volunteer schedule of the shifts for which you have been scheduled closer to the event. Confirmations will be mailed approximately 30 days prior to the event or emailed after that and will include further information on times, parking location, and other details.
As a potential volunteer at this prescribed event, you should be aware that the tasks requested of a volunteer may include some sort of physical exertion which could include, but not limited to, standing for long periods of time, walking moderate distances, and lifting up to 20 pounds or more. You may also be exposed to the weather and its elements and should prepare by bringing your own apparel or protective items such as coats, hats, or sunglasses. If you may need certain snacks or liquids for specific dietary needs, you should prepare by bringing your own items to meet those needs.
